The Marketing Environment



 
J crew is a company that spreading out of the U.S. and outside of the sea. Their business target is middle to upper class men, women and children who prefer to wear good quality products and design. J crew offers their customers to enjoy fashion also they help to develop its customers look better. J crew has more than 200 stores in the U.S and 12 stores in Canada.
        
J crew has been looking for business opportunities in Asia, now China has a huge business marketing. Therefore,J crew will soon open their store in Hong Kong at the high-end department store. Hong Kong receives 28 million tourists from mainland China each year. J crew hopes to reels for those tourists. Later, J crew has a plan to open their stores in Beijing and Shanghai for Chinese middle to upper class customers. However, J crew’s middle range line good quality clothes are accept for Chinese customers because they prefer to purchase European high brands which we can recognize easily such as Gucci, Chanel. But still for J crew Chinese market is attractive to start business.

 


              

In additional, J crew target is not domestic customer only J crew has a well-developed online shopping system therefore its customers are able to purchase its product around the world.

Ethical Responsibilities for J crew

Jcrew has many different ethical Responsibilities because the employers and their customers came from all over the world. Especially, Jcrew has huge responsibilities for their employees to work comfortably and respectably the employees who came from different ethics.

Social Responsibilities for J crew

Jcrew feels important to giving back to the communities where their customers and employees live and work. Therefore, Jcrew has been involving many charities in need locally and globally. In 2011 Jcrwe has started three charities.

First call DonorsChoose.org Jcrew give supllies, books, etc to children in need to syudy.


 
 
 
 



Second call Teach For America which provide teacher to teach for at least two years in low-income public schools.






                The Last call Garments for Good which Jcrew create T-shirts and other items in their stores and online to charity the Seles.

J crew Strategic Planning for Competitive Advantage


J crew is the one large clothing company in the U.S. It is expanding more and more in the recently years.

Competitive Advantage

Since 2009, Jcrew proposed a new initiative. In which, the company decided to separate the stores: one for women and one for men. This will show a new image of the store to the costumers as well as specific preferences for men and women. Since, they both have different views and likes when buying clothing. Before this change, the two genders’ clothing was placed in the same building. Therefore, it was very difficult to present an image of the clothing because man and women have different concepts regarding to fashion.

In addition, Jcrew has a “Very personal Stylist,” which is to help customers to create or find the perfect outfit that goes better with their features and personality.

                                      

SWOT analysis

Strengths: Jcrew is a middle class brand. They have good quality products. Another, features is that Jcrew has its own designing products

Weakness: Jcrew started shipping internationally last year in 2012. Right now, their customers around the word is able to buy the products in English. It is inconvenient for the costumers, who don’t speak English.  

Opportunities:  Jcrew has online stores that allow it to ship their products to 100 different countries around the world.

Threats: The black market sells copies of the products from Jcrew. It decreases the original sales of the products.
